EXECUTIVE CHEF AUSTIN FAUSETT

Blending an inherent passion for cooking and an affinity for local products with expertise honed at some of the most celebrated restaurants around the world, Austin Fausett brings an eye for detail and a deep appreciation for ingredients in the role of Executive Chef at Hotel Arista, Che Figata & Zorba Cocktail Bar. 

 

Fausett oversees the dining experiences at Wine Spectator Award-winning Che Figata, Zorba Cocktail Lounge, Kafenio, and the hotel’s banquet service and in-room dining, which contributes to Hotel Arista’s status as the state’s only Forbes 4 Star, AAA Four Diamond hotel outside of Chicago.

 

Fausett, who was named StarChefs Rising Star in 2014 and nominated in 2015 for Rising Culinary Star by the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington, served as Executive Chef at such renown eateries in the DC/Virginia region as Proof and Trummer’s. He sharpened his skills in some of the country’s most applauded restaurants from the former Craftbar in New York City to San Francisco’s Town Hall, and at Michelin-starred restaurants in Europe.

 

A Midwest native, born and raised in neighboring Wisconsin, Fausett took to the kitchen under his mother’s tutelage with an important lesson: Food brings people together. He began his restaurant career in his early teens as a dishwasher and followed his passion to culinary school. His deep appreciation for agriculture, developed in Virginia where he sourced ingredients from local farmers, inspires his work.
