Table Italiano explores Tuscano

6 p.m. - 8 p.m., Friday, July 26

Central Italy’s region of Tuscany is home to some of the world’s most famous Renaissance art, including Michelangelo’s David statue. The diversity of its landscape ranges from the Apennine Mountains to the beaches at Elba, and it’s foods are based on the concept of ”cucina povera” or “poor cooking” meaning they are simple, yet naturally flavorful foods that can be made into large quantity with local ingredients found in the Tuscan countryside.
While once out of necessity, the bread, beans and roasted meats that serve as the base to many Tuscan meals are now the regional preference and part of its legacy.

Join Che Figata’s Table Italiano as it visits Regione Tuscana, 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30.
